seasonal fish

Its a brilliant time of year for fish - Robert is bursting with excitement!

Its the time of year where the fish are all plumped up and in peak condition to see them through the winter and colder weather. Tides and winds permitting we have fantastic fresh local fish every day. Robert is on the phone morning noon and night to fishermen all down our coast from Eyemouth near the Scottish Border to Whitby in Yorkshire, so he knows as soon as they do what's in the net and what's the best for us, so we get pick of the crop!

Our fishermen friends are amazing, the weather can be truly awful, and we are tucked up on our sofas with the fire on watching telly and they are out there at sea, working hard to bring the catches in to us - they truly deserve our thanks and praise.

We've been working closely with Terry Laybourne recently, our fish is now going into his restaurants in Newcastle - Vivo and Cafe 21. In return he is giving us a hand with our cafe menu. He's full of ideas and is promising to come and do a lunch service for us, who knows when??? If you would like us to let you know when he says he is going to come you can contact us through the website and I can send you an email to let you know!
