Our Friends at Coghlans School of Fine Dining; Andrew & Janet Coghlan have included a chapter on Robert Latimer in their fabulous new book which looks at balancing the flavour's of wine and food, it also features recipes of top Chefs from Longueville Manor, Westin Turnberry and Park Hotel none the less!

In the book they try to dispel the myths and show you how to match wine and food using simple techniques to analyse any wine and food combinations - including your favorite seafood's.
The chapter on "Food Hero" Robert, talks about his early days here at Whitburn and how his love of fish lead him into his career including his former life as a creel fisherman in the dangerous waters off the West Coast of Scotland.
Their fabulous (and not to mention dishy) Head Chef Simon Lilley developed a scrummy Crab and Salmon Terrine; Andrew Coghlan matches a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc to balance the delicate flavour's without overpowering the dish. Its fascinating reading how and why Andrew chooses certain wines to compliment different foods - as anyone who has been to one of our joint Whitburn Dinners will attest to.
We are selling the book in our shop for the reduced rate of £10.95 (and if you catch Robert on a good day he might even sign it for you!) or you can buy online at their Barrels & Bottles Website by following this link:
