Finally the long awaited premiere of Latimers on TV happened on the 3rd Febuary!
Did you see it? What did you think? Email us and let us know.
Some of you may remember a cold wet rainy Friday in December when 2 lovely lasses Laura & Ruth came up to film Robert from BBC 1's Countryfile Programme.

They wanted to film a day in the life of this award winning Fishmonger to try and illustrate what it entails to get your fish as fresh as it is into the fish counter here at Latimers – and ultimately onto your plate.
They filmed filleting all sorts of fish, dressing crabs and lobsters and also plenty of you guys getting served by our glamorous team!
They wanted to know all about how he got into the trade, his previous life as a fish farm manager and as a creel fisherman off the Isle of Luing on the West Coast of Scotland – in the extremely dangerous waters around one of the worlds largest tidal whirlpools – Corryvreckan and finally what led him to open his own award winning seafood delicatessen.
They were really interested in how mother nature has a huge roll to play in the day to day managing of the deli, with the weather having a huge impact on what if any fish are caught – Northerly winds are our biggest problem due to the size and type of wave they create, making it extraordinarily dangerous for our day boats to go to sea (this may help explain why some days you guys come in wanting a particular type of fish and there is none to be had!). Mother Nature also plays a part in many other ways, for example; different tides seem to bring different fish into the nets and of course we must not forget that just like the veggies in your gardens fish is seasonal, and to keep food miles down we all need to learn to buy what’s good now in our region.
They spent the whole day with us, from 7 in the morning (although Robert was up at his customary 4am!) until the boats landed at Blyth well into Friday evening.
We thought they did an absolutley fantastic job of illustrating what a day in the life for Robert consisted of, the shots of the shop, fish, boats and local coastline were stunning and we are so thankful to them for their hard work.
The response from everyone - customers old & new has been amazing, one guy from down South even wanting to move up here so he can buy our fish! So thank-you to all our customers aswell, without you supporting this small, local business where would we be?
