Herring - The silver darlings are back! Bake them in cider vinegar, or coat in oatmeal and pan fry in a little dab of butter. Herrings are full of omega 3 and very good for your heart.
Wild Salmon and Sea Trout - All caught off the Northumberland Coast, only here until the end of August, so make the most of this wonderful seasonal bounty.
Samphire/Sea Asparagus - Ideal accompiant to all seafood dishes, eat as it is, or blanch/steam it for a couple of minutes.
Mackerel - Ideal for the BBQ, marinade it in oil, lemon and chilli, yummy and full of omeaga 3 aswell!
Hand Dived King Scallops - Our favorite food! Quickly pan fry them in a little hot butter and serve simply with a crisp green salad and new potatoes. See the recipie page for more ideas
Cod - in brilliant condition at the moment, lots being caught and landed at Whitby
Haddock & Whiting- We skin and bone beautifully for the perfect fast food
Ling - Member of the cod family, ideal in fish pie and fishcakes
Red Mullet - Bake whole in the oven
Squid - Pan fry very quickly in a hot pan to stop it getting chewy! Lovely dusted with salt, pepper and chilli seasoned flour then pan fried
Dover Sole - Dust with flour and pan fry, or forget the diet and bake them in the oven with double cream with a squeeze of lemon
Turbot - Roast the whole fish - delicious
Halibut - Pan Fry, Bake in the oven - or have a look on the recipes page for more ideas
Brill - Bake fillets in foil parcels, or bake whole
Fish Stock - Made daily on the premises, this is the perfect stock for any fish dishes - think risotto's, paella, fish soups, stews or curries.
